This short 30 minute course explores the moving and handling of people, as might be experienced within a healthcare setting such as a hospital or care home, including domiciliary care environments. Two specific examples include a Slide Sheet Transfer and Movement with a Person Hoist.

The theory contained within this course should be supplemented with practical experiences, using equipment that is likely to be encountered as part of the activities to be carried out.This is especially important for people who are new to moving and handling techniques with no previous practical experience.
