This legionella awareness course is designed for those involved in the management of legionella including the maintenance activities.   Legionella Awareness
The course looks at common sources of the bacteria, and explains how legionella bacteria can grow (including growth within biofilm), and the methods of control which might be used to control the bacteria (including the temperature ranges to avoid). Vulnerable individuals are also identified, as the risk of contraction of the disease increases with age, but some groups of people are at a higher risk.

Provided by IBIS Training. This 30 minute course looks at types of equipment and other risk systems such as spa pools or vehicle washers, by giving a detailed understanding of how the different types of cooling systems work, including the use of drift eliminators and water treatment. Hot and Cold water storage tanks are reviewed and the methods by which risk can be controlled within these tanks, by effective design. Cleaning and housekeeping methods which are used to maintain a safe system are also identified. Legislation is discussed, including the most recent changes to L8. The course also focuses on the requirements for, and key elements of, risk assessment and record keeping.
